Paul Ulan-Taylor Artist

Paul Ulan-Taylor, Gryffin West Garuda East, acrylic, ink, pastel and charcoal on linoleum, 16.5 x 33.6 cm (6½ x 13¼ in), 2022

As a comparison of Eastern and Western visual tradition, this mixed media painting places gryffin and garuda motifs side by side.

Gryffins and Garudas

The gryffin is an eagle and lion hybrid with origins predating Bronze Age Greece with representations as far back as 3000BCE in Iran and Mesopotamia.

The garuda is part eagle and part human with strong significance in Hindu and Southeast Asian religion and culture.

NOT LOREM IPSUM - TEMPORARY CLIPS

Clips of recent artworks as a placeholder for more videos to come

A bit better than Lorem Ipsum but not quite anything worth reading yet.

Similarly the video above is a quick clip showing a few recent artworks. It is mainly in order to include this section for future use without spending too much time.

I will be using video more often to document my work and practice. I also think stylised edits of my more abstract artworks could be fun to incorporate in visualisations.

Even the jargon sounds speedy — with heroic and futuristic job titles such as UX-UI Fullstack Developer.

What hasn't changed is how satisfying it is when you don't have any more code to write.
